Christina Frielich, the estranged wife of a murdered mob boss hires Matrix to kill Billy Hicks when she discovers evidence linking Billy, the ex-boyfriend of her husband's mistress, Angela Carlton, as the murderer. On a personal mission to save his friend of 15 years from being the victim of the next mob hit, Matrix gets no help from radio advice talkshow hostess Anita Truelove in the City In-Between who shows him that *he* will be awarded the contract on Billy. Matrix has a hard time convincing Billy that Angela has framed him as the guilty party, but the two pros set up a trap and is able to get a full confession on tape during Billy's "mock" execution. When finger pointing begins, we learn that Angela had another accomplice. The real killer was Richard, the brother of the mob boss who worked with Angela to frame both Billy and Christina. Richard wanted to inherit the entire Frielich fortune, knocking Christina out as the competition.
